The Fallacy Of Weight Loss

The Fallacy Of “Weight Loss” And Why It’s Stopping You Losing Weight

Sounds odd...but stick with me.

After almost 15 years coaching and talking to literally thousands of people about making progress with their body, I’ve picked up on a few things that seem to really hold people back.

One of them is the traditional thinking around weight loss, specifically the thought that focussing on a negative…on reduction, cutting, dieting and forcing yourself to do things that you don’t really enjoy…is the way to do it.

But, I’m afraid it’s simply not true. Humans are just not wired that way…to try to fight with thousands of years of evolution is to commit to an endless battle of wills with something that has evolved to do the opposite.

You’re not even bringing a knife to a gun fight…you’re meekly waving that single piece of soggy spaghetti left in the pan from last night’s dinner at a tank and hoping it will back down.

Sure, you might lose a few pounds in the short term, but this approach is never going to allow you to succeed in the long term.

Our approach is to take the opposite route…to focus on helping our members get long term progress towards their goals from addition. From focussing on the positive…on building, learning, laughing and on the endorphin rush of accomplishment.

Because focussing on that is something that your body (and evolution) can get behind and support you on.

After all, the goal is not to be a hungry bag of skin draped over a pile of bones is it?…

…You want to feel great, energised, strong and motivated.

Confident in yourself, your abilities and your body shape.

And you want to keep feeling that way for many, many years to come.

There’s a lot of important things that you want to be around for, so you’re keen to start putting in the work to make sure that happens.

If you’d like to know more about how we do this and the kind of results that it gets, feel free to have a look at our Train With Us page.

After a few years trying to the traditional options, maybe it's worth trying another way?
